About me
Sydney DelMastro is a student at Endicott College, majoring in English Secondary Education with a minor in Spanish. Her academic work and field experiences have focused on supporting diverse learners and creating inclusive, engaging classroom environments. She has completed field placements in 5th and 6th grade English classrooms in Malden, Massachusetts; 8th grade in Beverly, Massachusetts; and 11th and 12th grade in Danvers, Massachusetts, giving her experience across a wide range of grade levels and student needs.Sydney’s interest in open education began after attending an open education conference in 2024, where she was introduced to open educational resources and their potential to increase access and reduce barriers for students. Since then, she has become increasingly interested in how open practices can support equity, affordability, and innovation in education.As a future educator, she is passionate about designing learning experiences that are accessible, adaptable, and student-centered, and she is eager to contribute to ongoing conversations about the role of open education in K-12 and beyond.
