About me
Tamara Perkins is an award-winning documentary director, producer, and educator with over 20 years of filmmaking experience and over six years teaching film at the College of San Mateo (an AANAPISI and Hispanic-Serving Institution). Deeply committed to equity-centered pedagogy, she creates pathways for historically underserved students in film and media arts. Tamara is currently authoring Reframing Cinema, an open-access, zero-cost textbook for Intro to Film, and serves as the FTVE ZTC Project Lead for a CCCCO Acceleration Grant aimed at converting the entire Film AA degree to Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC). She holds an M.F.A. in Film from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.
