About me
With twenty years of professional experience in libraries from: Private Research (The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens), Academic (California State Polytechnic University, Pomona; Palomar College, Crafton Hills College), and Public (Rancho Mirage Library and Conservatory), Natalie has used creativity and innovation to further expand on leadership, outreach, and ideas that build student success. Natalie’s education includes California State University, Fullerton where she is working on a doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus on Open Educational Resources (OER) and Zero Textbook Costs (ZTC) and the lived experiences of students identified as disproportionately impacted. A graduate of San Jose State University’s Graduate program in Library and Information Studies and Asilomar’s Women’s Leadership Institute and, more recently, a graduate of Harvard University’s Leadership in Academic Libraries Program, Natalie is a pioneer after developing the California Community College’s first ZTC pathway for Library and Information Science certification. She enjoys spending time with her family, including their dog Boba, enjoys theme park rides, visiting museums and libraries while traveling, loves inventing recipes, writing short stories, and reading (Librarian, of course!)
