About me
Dr. Munir is a neurodivergent teacher, independent researcher, open education expert, disability advocate, and educational theorist. He holds a PhD in Education and currently works as an Assistant Professor of Education. He is also the volunteer Founder and Director of the Global Forum for Teacher Educators and the Global Academy of Open Educational Resources Publications. He has published seven open books, both as a writer and editor. He has also completed the Charles Wallace Fellowship and the Global Heumann Fellowship, both of which focus on open education and disability. Additionally, he has served as a Visiting Academic Scholar at Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of California, Berkeley. He has proposed more than 40 innovative educational models, theories, and frameworks. He presented innovative open education ideas at the United Nations General Assembly Science Summit, the Asia-Europe Foundation Conference, and The Open University, UK.He is a member of OE Global, the UNESCO Inclusive Policy Lab, the Creative Commons Global Network, the European AI Alliance, the Commonwealth Association, the UNESCO OER Dynamic Coalition, and the GO-GN Network. He is currently working on a draft policy on inclusive open education and AI.
