About me
Dr. Mahmoud Hawamdeh is an EdTech researcher and educational expert with over 25 years of experience in higher education, particularly in digital pedagogy, policy, and innovation. He is a current project manager for national education reform and a prominent figure at Al-Quds Open University, where he has presided over the Master’s Program in Educational Technology and E-Learning.Dr. Hawamdeh is a UNESCO OER expert and a contributor to the regional OER initiatives. He participated at the UNESCO Regional Consultation on OER held at Cairo University (2025) that fosters the dialogues against inclusive and sustainable OER policies in the Arab region.His strong experience includes leading large-scale, international projects, funded by Erasmus+, UNICEF, the Belgian Development Agency, etc. on open education, digital citizenship and AI in education. He has been involved in strategic planning and capacity building in the institutions for more than 19 years.He has completed a Ph.D. in Computer Education and Instructional Technologies. He is a researcher in the area of AI ethics, student well-being and digital transformation with a commitment to inclusive and future-ready education systems.
