About me
Melissa Ashman is an instructor of business communications, public relations, and entrepreneurial leadership at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. An advocate for all things open, she has adapted and created open textbooks, developed and used open pedagogy assignments and practices, and completed a research project examining the perceptions of open pedagogy by faculty and students. She completed her Doctor of Education in Distance Education at Athabasca University, and her dissertation explored the intersection of open pedagogy and social justice in online classes.
