About me
Medora Huseby is a member of the teaching faculty in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology at Colorado State University, where she focuses on open educational practices and student engagement in open education. She chairs the Open Educational Resources (OER) Committee at CSU and manages a program supporting faculty in converting courses to OER. In this role, she has partnered with the Associated Students of Colorado State University (ASCSU) to increase student awareness of OER.Medora contributes to the broader open education community through her work with MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching). As part of the Biology Editorial Board, she has incorporated undergraduate students into the peer review process for open educational resources and is exploring how artificial intelligence can help scale peer review to increase the availability of high-quality OER.She is a member of the Colorado State OER Council and chairs its Professional Development subcommittee, which has hosted more than 40 Lunch and Learn webinars for OER practitioners. In addition, she serves on the steering committee of DOERS (Driving OER Sustainability for Student Success) and leads the OER for All working group examining student success outcomes and equity gaps related to OER adoption.
