About me
Kathy is an open education leader, librarian, and educator dedicated to advancing access to education and community through the adoption and creation of open educational resources (OER). As the Coordinator of OpenOKState at Oklahoma State University, Kathy collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to develop sustainable, innovative approaches to research, teaching and learning. She has received international recognition from OEGlobal, is a member of GO_GN, was selected as an OpenEd Group Research Fellow, and was awarded the 2023 Oklahoma Online Learning Excellence Award for Open Education Impact. Kathy is an instructor for the Open Education Network Certificate in Open Education Librarianship, co-designer and presenter of the ACRL OER and Affordability Roadshow, and served on the interim steering committee that helped form the Open Education Association. She is a co-founder of the Open Pedagogy Collaborative and is proud to have helped lead the initiative bringing educators together for the inaugural "AI in Oklahoma Education" symposium.
