About me
Karen Meijer, MLIS, MA, is the Scholarly Communications and Copyright Librarian at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) in British Columbia, Canada. She has worked in publishing since 2003 and has been active in the field of Open Education in its many forms since 2015. Throughout her career, she has supported faculty and students in a wide range of research dissemination activities—including journal, book, and OER publishing—with a particular focus on helping creators navigate copyright, fair dealing, and open licensing. At KPU, she is a member of the Open Publishing Suite team and manages the institutional repository (KORA). She also facilitates workshops on publishing, Open Education and OER, and copyright-related topics.
