About me
Dr. Fara Bowler is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado College of Nursing, where she serves as Assistant Dean of Clinical Simulation Science and Senior Director of Clinical Partnership and Placements. With over a decade at the institution, she has led innovative simulation initiatives across pre-licensure and graduate nursing programs. An Advanced Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CSHE-A), Dr. Bowler serves on the INACSL Board of Directors and has contributed extensively to the INACSL Standards Committee, including leading an international, interdisciplinary team in publishing the 2021 Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice: Professional Integrity. She is currently serving her second elected term on the Board. An APRN, she earned her master’s degree from the University of Colorado and completed her Executive DNP at Johns Hopkins University. Most recently, she led the development of a behavioral health curriculum supporting nurses transitioning into practice. By integrating immersive virtual reality and screen-based simulation, her team created scalable learning experiences now implemented across programs, engaging more than 800 students each semester. Dr. Bowler is recognized as a dynamic leader advancing clinical education and simulation.
