About me
Ms. Beatrice Canales currently serves as the Open Licensing Expert and former grant project director of the Alamo Colleges OER Consortium Project, funded by a $1.96 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Open Textbook Pilot Program. She has served as an academic staff educator at San Antonio College for the past 20 years where she has supported faculty and staff in curating data and materials for workshops, presentations, and conferences. She established a Textbook Equity Student Advisory Board to ensure student voice was included in San Antonio College’s campus-wide initiative. Ms. Canales received a Master of Library Sciences (MLS) from Texas Woman’s University and completed the SPARC Open Education Leadership Fellowship Program. Ms. Canales holds individual memberships in OE Global and Creative Commons Global networks.
