About me
Başak Büyükçelen is the CEO of Pressbooks, where she has spent the last seven years helping shape the company's direction and culture. With a background spanning consulting, manufacturing, banking, finance, film, and video games, she brings a cross-industry lens to the challenges of open education and workforce-aligned learning.Her current focus is on expanding Pressbooks' role in the microcredential and skills-based content space, working with community colleges, open education networks, and industry partners to explore how open practices can support more equitable and transparent pathways from learning to employment.Başak is based between Montreal, Canada and Oaxaca, Mexico, and brings a multilingual, multicultural perspective to her work in education technology.
