About me
Mathematician, educator, editor, and makerAna María is an academic producer and researcher at the Kä Träre Fabrication Laboratory. She received her professional training at the University of Costa Rica (UCR), in the School of Teacher Education (Faculty of Education) and the School of Mathematics (Faculty of Sciences); additionally, she studied at Versal, a Mexican institute for text editing.At UNED, she has served as a tutor, evaluator, grader, academic producer, researcher, thesis reader, and program coordinator. Currently, she is responsible for recording and organizing information on the Fabrication Laboratory’s projects and participates in various projects.She has published books, scientific articles, and popular science articles on various topics, including basic mathematics, augmented reality, virtual reality, open educational resources, digital inclusion, and others. She has actively participated in institutional projects and committees; has been a speaker at national and international events; and has been recognized as a distinguished UNED staff member on several occasions.As a maker, she works primarily with textile materials to create fabrics, embroidery, clothing, accessories, and more; sometimes incorporating technology or digital fabrication techniques such as 3D printing or laser cutting.
