About me
Andrea Reed is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she teaches in the undergraduate nursing program, and is part of the National League of Nursing Social Determinants of Health 2026 Leadership Cohort. Andrea co-leads the VCU Institute for Women’s Health Women’s Health and Healing Trip to Guatemala, an immersive learning experience where participants learn from traditional midwives and engage in culturally humble, community-centered approaches to women’s health. Her scholarly work includes co-authoring Community and Public Health Nursing: A Call to Action, a practice-focused guide to the roles of community and public health nurses, and she is currently developing an open educational resource text on special populations in public health.
